| As an industrial company, we bear a large share of responsibility in educating enough trained workers to recruit - although the crisis has meant greater labor supply than demand in the industry, there will be a time to come after the crisis, and to be ready to meet new demands it is important to be prepared with both technological and human resources. It is therefore extremely important that we also in times of crisis engage ourselves in the training of apprentices and open our company to interested young people who face having to take a career choice.
B. Rustfrit Stål actively participates in the cooperation between industry and schools on an intensified effort to address not only the growing unemployment among young people, but also - in the years ahead - the growing shortage of skilled labor. We invited a 7th grade school class from Torstedskolen on company visits. The aim of the visit was to present the young people to the career opportunities offered by the metal industry and to show them in a practical way, what we are working with. Visiting B. Rustfrit Stål the students were given a tour around the company and was subsequently given the opportunity to try their own craftsmanship skills, which brought out some really nice pencil holders. Also the teacher was challenged on his craftmanship skills. There was a good and committed atmosphere during the visit and the students asked interested in both products and processes. It is our belief that they all gained new knowledge about the industry and the career opportunities it offers and we hope that the interest is aroused for a future in the professional blacksmith industry.
